Brian Edward Cartwright, 50, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donald & Sheridan Cartwright on January 29, 1967.

He passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on the morning of December 4, 2017 after losing his short battle to cancer.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife Billie, two stepchildren, Raven and Shane, and step-grandson Royce, as well as his mother, Sheridan “Sheri” Cartwright and Father Donald Cartwright, Jr. (Zhang Yu); brother Donald Cartwright, III and sister Melissa Maginity (Mike) with their children Jessica Maginity (Quin Abarr), Chloe, David and Ava, in addition to numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and countless friends.

Brian was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School and studied at Butler University.

Brian is a United States Marine Corp Veteran and was employed by Ford Motor Company for over 23 years.

He is a former member of Englewood lodge #715 in Indianapolis, IN.

He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him.  He was dedicated and passionate throughout his entire life with anything he put his mind to and was always willing to help someone out.

He often mentioned he felt he had a wonderful life thanks to his wife, family, and all the friends he has been fortunate to know.

He will be cremated and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers please donate to Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory for expenses.

I miss you my loving, outstanding son. Here for such a short time! I knew you as a baby, boy, wrestler, Marine, and husband. You were good at all of these stages of your life. I’ve met few people in my life, that tried as hard as you to do the RIGHT THING! This burned a place in my heart, that will be there until I die.
We were elated when you met and married youf excellent wife Billie. We all envisioned another 25 or 30 years together! I have lost an unbelievable son, but am comforted to have gained an amazing daughter..
Rest in peace Brian. We all love you deeply and will never completely recover from this loss.

    Dad

I worked with Brian at Ford Motor co. He was a good friend and co-worker for many years. I glad to had a chance to meet his father, while helping him move into an apartment. We had to relocate to the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant. Something for the family, the memories of a lost love will be a treasure to you for the rest of your life.

Brian, we will do that ALS walk for Bud ❤️

I’m so thankful I got to know you instead of only knowing an older cousin, you became a friend. I loved your spirit, tenacity, zest and love for proper English grammar!!
Through a very challenging and changing time in my life I had a good friend to come home and “talk” to. Our conversations meant the world to me. I looked forward to them nearly every day. I will forever miss you

My deepest condolences to the Cartwright Family on the untimely passing of Brian. As classmates since Belzer, I remember Brian as a very caring, genuine friend with a sweet smile.
The Lawrence Central High School Class of 1985 has lost yet another kind soul.

I take comfort in the fact that you finally found the one piece missing in your
